When Sunrise Entertainment created the characters for Gundam Wing, they wanted them to have a special relationship with each other, especially seeing that they all have the common desire to protect the colonys. As they meet through out the series, the pilots began to understand each other and become good friends. Sunrise also made each of the characters personalites unique. Heero and Trowa where the quiet ones, Duo and Quatre where the sociable ones, and Wufei was the loner. Seeing that Heero was the quiet one, the producers though it would be best to have a talkative character, such as Duo, to meet up with first, and they had Quatre, the kind hearted pilot meet up with Trowa, the man with no emotions. Wufei was left alone because it would be his main preference, considering he just lost his wife. But through out the series, the producers rotated the characters so that they could all meet each other. In the english version of Gundam Wing, Duo's voice actor Scott McNeil, have never considerd or thought that about the Heero and Duo coupleing, and have always said that Hilde was Duo's girlfriend. He also said that the DuoXHilde relationship is far more obvious then the HeeroXDuo one. Overall, Sunrise has never intended to make any of the pilots couples, but rather give them all a friendship that all groups of people have when they share a common destiny.

Topic Two: Events within the series

During there series, we are introduced to the characters one by one. Heero and Duo first meet when Heero tries to kill Relena, but is stopped when Duo shoot him twice. Once in the arm and once in the leg, in order to save Relena. When Duo discovers that Heero is a Gundam pilot like himself, and have the same goals, he decides to rescue him from the Alliance hospital. At first, Duo thought Heero was kinda cool because he was really talented, but that changed when he discoverd his rude and quiet side. Duo disliked Heero even more when he didn't get any appreciation for taking back to the Sweepers and offering to get his Gundam fixed. Duo then gives up on Heero and his Gundam and leaves them alone, but when Duo found that heero took his spare parts from Deathscyth, Duo took back any nice things he said about Heero, called him a coward, and also said that he would get even with him. Time passed, and Duo was set on another mission, ironicly, Heero was in the same area for his mission. When Duo and Heero came face to face, Duo said that they are going to fight it out, Heero instead shot the moble suit behind Duo as a dept repaid. Duo did not except it and said that he will get him next time. The next time we see them is when they as well as the other Gundam pilots gather to distory the OZ leaders, which where really the Alliance pacifists, (A trap set by Treize). After that, Heero and Duo disgise themselves as students in order to destroy OZ and stay hidden. They are then seperated after the misson in which Heero self detinated. After that, Heero spends alot of time with Trowa, and Duo with Quatre. The next time Heero and Duo meet was in space when Heero when to the Fortres Barge to destroy Duo for being caught by OZ, but then couldn't do it because he began to accept Duo as a friend. If you don't count the time Duo was thrown in the same dungon as Heero and Wufei, Heero and Duo aren't shown together untill the Gboys gather and fight OZ. Overall, there is no proof in the series that Heero and Duo are a couple, which means that the yaoi suggestion between them was invented by fans, and decided to spread it through the Internet, and doujinshi.

Topic Three: Doujinshi

Doujinshi is manga created, and sold by fans, which of course means that the material and events within these stories are unoffical and dose not say that the HeeroXDuo relationship is true. Doujinshi is possibly the start to the HeeroXDuo relationship and the fans who sided with it, began to believe that it was true, the fact is *it is not true, the idea was fan based*. If you ask me, I kinda like the doujinshis, because most likely they where made by open minded people, and I like that. In the doujinshi that I have read, I agree that Heero and Duo are a couple, with the pic you see here, it's kind of hard not to admit it, and im a fan of the TrowaXQuatre coupleing, but I also have the knowledge that the couple idea is nothing more but an idea made up by fans (kinda hard to beleve though considering the cloaths Quatre wares and the attention they give each other ^_^). And I of course understand the feelings that fans have about Heero and Duo, and I sometimes enjoy the doujinshis stories about them, but I always have in mind that the whole idea is a fan creation.
